Saints Santa Run

Grab your costumes and running shoes, the Santa Run is going virtual!

Each year, our family-friendly holiday run brings young and old, and even pets, to downtown Oklahoma City for a festive 5K. In 2020, the run is coming to you! The virtual Saints Santa Run can be completed on a treadmill from the comfort of your home, around your neighborhood, on your favorite jogging trail, or on our suggested route in Midtown (coming soon), the home of our new run sponsor SSM Health – St. Anthony Hospital. We’ve even made a custom playlist to get you in the holiday spirit.

This virtual 5K is a great way to stay active and spread holiday cheer, without spreading germs. Sign up online and complete your run anytime, anywhere during the month of December. Participants will receive a commemorative 2020 Saints Santa Run t-shirt and finisher medal.

Once you have completed your run, you will be able to log your finish time, download your personalized finisher certificate, see how you rank on the leaderboard, and upload your photos with custom Santa Run overlays to share on social.

It wouldn’t be the Saints Santa Run without a costume contest! Wear your most festive attire during your run, post your photo on Facebook or Instagram and tag @downtownokc with hashtag #SaintsSantaRun to be entered to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place and receive special downtown OKC swag.

Continue your holiday tradition and join us for the 2020 Saints Santa Run!

How does a virtual run work?
A virtual Saints Santa Run means that you can run or walk your 5K anywhere and anytime on your own or with your family and friends. Once you have completed your 5K distance simply submit your results online and receive your finisher certificate.

But can I really run anywhere?
Really! Anywhere. Your house, your aunt’s house, OKC, another city, or another state! Anywhere running and over-the-top costumes are allowed. If you want to keep your tradition of running downtown, check out our Midtown race route.

But what do you mean by running anytime?
Okay, not anytime. Our run will take place the entire month of December so you can run day or night, whenever you’d like, during December.

Got it. How do I get my packet?
You can choose to have your packet mailed (for a fee) or grab it at our drive-thru packet pick up on the SSM Health – St. Anthony campus in Midtown or at the walk-up packet pick up at OK Runner in Automobile Alley (dates & times above). Mailed packets will go out in two rounds, in mid-November and mid-December.

How much does it cost?
There’s a saying that “nothing in life is free” and that applies to this, too. Early bird registration will begin on October 9th at the low, low price of $25 per runner. What a steal! After that, it goes up to $30 per runner on October 31st, and up to $35 per runner on November 21st. There will also be a small processing fee and tax.

Who can run?
Anyone! 5K’s are great for runners of all abilities. Now that it’s virtual you don’t have to worry about that really fast person blowing past you and leaving you in the dust. Or if you’re the really fast person, you don’t have to worry about the slowpokes being in your way. We love when you run with your pets, but unfortunately their results are not eligible for the leaderboard. So you have to at least be human.

What should I listen to while I run?
We’re glad you asked. We have created a special Saints Santa Run playlist on Spotify to get you in the holiday run spirit. You can bet your bottom that there is some Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the list.

Do I HAVE to wear a costume?
No, you don’t HAVE to wear a costume but it’s a lot of fun and you could win prizes. With everything that’s been going on in 2020, we think dressing up as “grandma getting run over by a reindeer” is probably one of the best decisions you’ll make this year.

What are we running for anyway?
For fun! For Christmas! For exercise! And all of the proceeds from the run will go directly to Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership, providing services to the downtown area that include keeping the streets clean, safe and friendly services, marketing our amazing local businesses, and activating the core with community events and public art. Doesn’t sound too shabby to me.

What if I have questions before or after I register?
We love questions! Sometimes we’re a little slow to respond, but darn it we will respond. Email our Events Coordinator Holly at
