Drop-In Art
From 10am-2pm every Saturday in December, visitors are invited to participate in the museum’s Drop-In Art programing. These come-and-go activities are suitable for all ages and provide a perfect opportunity for visitors to connect with the galleries and tap into their creativity. Weekly activities are free with admission or museum membership. Kids 17 and under always receive free admission to OKCMOA!
December 6: Holiday Card Printmaking
- Kick off the holiday season with festive card making! Using a variety of materials and techniques, visitors can create their own handmade holiday cards to share with friends and loved ones.
- Bonus! Meet the Museum elf, Ginger Jinglefluff, in the galleries for Elven Storytime at 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm.
December 13: Photos with Santa & Holiday Frames
- Santa has traveled all the way from the North Pole to visit Oklahoma City! Stop by the Museum Lobby from 10 am to 2 pm for photos with Santa, then head to the Museum’s studio classrooms to decorate a holiday-inspired frame to display your picture.
- Bonus! Visit the Museum Store for complimentary hot chocolate and $2 cookies while supplies last, and be sure to pick up those last-minute holiday gifts.
December 20: Shrinky Dink Ornaments and Gift Tags
- It’s Shrinky Dinks season! Create holiday ornaments and gift tags using Shrinky Dinks, permanent markers, and colored pencils before baking them down into miniature versions of your creations.
December 27: Snowflake Styrofoam Prints
- Visitors will use Styrofoam printing sheets, printmaking ink, and brayers to create their own snowflake prints, which are as unique and individual as real snowflakes themselves!
