American Banjo Museum's

Candy Cane Christmas

December 3

American Banjo Museum

A Candy Cane Christmas joyfully returns as the American Banjo Museum’s premiere holiday event on Sunday, December 3rd from 1-4pm. Fun for all ages is in store as live holiday music, candy canes and goodies, and visit from Santa Claus himself highlight a family friendly afternoon of Yuletide merriment.

“Many people don’t know that the museum building (9. East Sheridan, Oklahoma City) was once a candy factory that made candy canes during the holiday season,” commented museum director, Johnny Baier, adding  “To carry on our building’s proud pedigree during this festive time of year – with music and fun – seems a natural way for us to celebrate the season.”

The festivities begin when Johnny takes the stage to perform his favorite Christmas sing-alongs followed by Lucas Ross, the museum’s Outreach and Promotions coordinator, who will bring his special holiday banjo-blend of music and comedy. There will be holiday treats throughout the afternoon along with kid’s crafts where they can make their own paper banjo. The highlight of the event, of course, will be a visit from Santa Claus…bring your camera for a great photo opportunity!

Museum admission is free to those 15 and under. Adult admission is $8 or FREE with the donation of a new, unwrapped two for the Red Andrews Dinner.
